Yverdon-les-Bains Region
The beneficial effects of these sulphur- and magnesiumrich springs were already known to the Romans. They built the first thermal baths in Yverdon-les-Bains, and would recuperate there after their campaigns.
Today, this little town on Lake Neuchâtel is the most important spa resort in French-speaking Switzerland. It is also at the heart of a region that, with all its natural variety, promises endless relaxation and rejuvenation: the lush lakeshores offer a romantic and enchanted world of walks, while the foothills of the Jura are a perfect playground for devotees of outdoor wellness. History comes thrillingly to life at the castles of Yverdon-les-Bains and Grandson, and at the abbey church of Romainmôtier; while those more interested in the future can discover Europe's first museum of science fiction.
