People have always been drawn to this exceptional
mountain. Richard Wagner scaled its summit in 1859.
Queen Victoria reached it, as have millions of visitors
from all over the world.
Close to Lucerne and easily reached by public transport, the Pilatus (2,132 m) remains the ultimate adventure mountain for visitors of all ages. Two cable cars, two hotels, seven restaurants, the steepest cog railway in the world, the biggest adventure rope park in Central Switzerland and the longest summer toboggan run in the country (1,350 m) combine to make a thrilling excursion. The view from the summit, of lakes, 73 alpine peaks and the Schweizer Mittelland, is simply breathtaking. Whether for hiking or biking, climbing or tobogganing, the Pilatus has something for everyone.
