Where the sunny south begins…
The distinctly mild climate on the shores of Lake Lucerne around Weggis and Vitznau has given this area a reputation as the riviera of Central Switzerland. off along Europe’s first mountain cog railway – up the
world-famous Rigi. Today, it’s still worth an ascent by
steam train – or on foot as a day-hike, if you’re feeling fit.
How to get there
Public Transport: International trains run up to Lucerne. Train to Küssnacht am Rigi, then by bus Küssnacht – Weggis (20 km, 40 min. from Lucerne)
By car: Autobahn A4, exit Küssnacht am Rigi – Lake route to Weggis
