Lötschberg
Such enchanting mountain scenery really does deserve a prize. How fortunate, therefore, that the Lötschberg is part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn region, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
There are 550 km of fantastic footpaths and hiking trails to take you from peak to peak, from crystal clear mountain lakes to lush green meadows, through two climatic zones and through both the Bernese Oberland and the Valais, enabling you to experience nature at its most pristine. The bus ride from Reichenbach via Kiental to Griesalp, moreover, has the steepest climb of any postal bus route in Switzerland. And there is even something for culture vultures, too, who will relish not just the pretty mountain villages, but the music as well.
