Jaeger-LeCoultre, Blancpain, Audemars Piguet, Breguet: these names are music to the ears of admirers of beautiful watches.
They are just as closely connected to the Vallée de Joux – regarded as the cradle of the Swiss watchmaking industry – as the magical lake of the same name, which shimmers bright blue at an altitude of 1,004 m. This is not just the largest lake in the Jura, but also the most popular among sailors and windsurfers, who find ideal conditions here; while the excursion boat offers visitors the option of a gentler ride. From Mont Tendre – at 1,679 m, the highest peak – a fabulous view opens up over Lake Geneva and the Alps, from the Savoie as far as the Bernese Oberland – and over the hiking, riding and mountain-biking paradise that is the Vallée de Joux.
