Hardly any other region in Switzerland is as rich in natural
treasures as Lucerne’s “Wild West”.
No wonder, then, that the Entlebuch has been designated by UNESCO as Switzerland’s first and (so far) only biosphere reserve. Fabulous moor landscapes – which can be explored on a four-day adventure trail – and the towering Schrattenfluh with its fascinating rock formations offer unforgettable views and experiences. Relaxation and recuperation are on offer at the stimulating and refreshing Kneipp trail at Schwandalpweiher above Flühli – and, in more luxurious style, at the Rischli wellness hotel in Sörenberg. Providing
the appropriate conclusion to the day, meanwhile, are 12 gastronomic partners that have all committed themselves to using local produce in their cuisine.
A magical moorland.
The Entlebuch UNESCO Biosphere Reserve lies in the heart of Switzerland, between Lucerne and Bern. Stretching for 400 square kilometres, it is a mysterious, colourful world offering rest, inspiration and relaxation. And fascinating experiences too: such as a theme park based around energy; dozens of guided wildlife and cultural tours; haunting moors and strange rock formations – and breathtaking views. How to get there
