Not far from the densely populated area of Basel, the world is still tranquil and pastoral. A romantic hike leads from Grellingen on the river Birs through the green, densely forested gorge of the river Ibach to the little village of Meltingen. Sandstone rocks with colorful heraldic signs, grottos and a beautiful picnic spot mark the start of the tour. Footbridges, gravel banks and shallow riverbeds frequently invite you to rest a little while. An ideal hiking tour for children and a cool tip for hot summer days!
