Without exagerating one can say that 1000 peaks are visible from the Parpan Rothorn. Mountain peaks jut out everywhere: among the lesser known entities there are also better known mountains, such as the Piz Kesch, the Palü and the Piz Bernina.
This spectacular view can be found effortlessly: a pleasant cable-car ride brings visitors from Lenzerheide-Valbella (1500 m.a.s.l.) to the Parpan Rothorn, 2865 m.a.s.l. A large glassed-in terrace invites one to admire the panorama and possibly try one's hand at guessing the names of the peaks. From here, there are many well-groomed hiking trails, gently sloping downwards, which bring one to Lenzerheide-Valbella or to Arosa in 3 hours. Information signs tell visitors about the area and the mountains which tower above Lake heid. For those who find this too boring, there is a free-ride mountain bike trail crossing rough terrain which they will certainly find challenging.
How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation from Chur to Lenzerheide, mountain train to Rothorn.More links
