Even if you are not planning a lengthy hike, Madrisa, a vantage point at 1887 m.a.s.l. high above Prättigau opens up to a fascinating vista far in the distance.
Even couch potatoes should attempot to take the aerial cable-car to Madrisa. The views are too stunning not to be seen. The sunny terrace of the mountain station affords views onto the limestone-silvery peaks of the Silvretta Chain, and many more local mountains. But the cable-car also takes one to tge beginning of many interesting hikes. One of the more rewarding ones is the Madrisa Circuit: it follows the geological formations to the vantage point Mässplatten and returns to the starting point via Schnittlingboden. On the way, one will pass a waterfall, an alpine herbal garden, and hanging gardens. The two-hour hike leads one to Schlappin Dorf. The most extensive hike is undoubtedly the six-hour Prättigau Panoramic Hike which goes from St. Antönien to Schesaplana.
Explanatory brochure "150 million years in 2 1/2 hours" available at the Madrisa Cable-cars.

How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation from Chur to Klosters-Dorf, from here take the aerial cable-car to Madrisa.
