The Bernese Oberland is just as blessed with interesting means of transportation as with awe-inspiring natural wonders. Cross Lakes Brienz and Thun by steam boat and ascend Mt. Rothorn by steam-powered rack-and-pinion train.
The elegant steam boat "Blüemlisalp" conveys its passengers from Thun to Interlaken. Here, they are asked to transfer to the rather antique, but perfectly running, steam boat "Lötschberg", dating back to 1914. This salon boat was renovated from scratch in 2001 and is now resplendent in its original look. The wood carvers' village Brienz is its destination. Here, passengers change to the hissing, smoking Rothorn Railways, the steam train that brings guests up to the Brienzergrat. Here, they will enjoy dinner, unsurpassable views and a spectacular sundown. The next day, the whole thing is done in reverse, bringing passengers back to our modern times.

How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation to Thun.
