Summer 
Rather than replacing this charming funicular with something more modern, it was restored lovingly, down to all historic details, such as the dark-red interiors and the curtains that blow in the wind! At the middle-station Kälti one encounters the 20th century in form of the aerial cable-car installed in the 1970's.
At the top, the 21st century beckons in the form of the brand-new revolving restaurant Rondorama. The view is onto 100 kilometers of alpine peaks and 10 lakes. There are many hiking possibilities and good food to round off the experience.

Not only aficionados of beautiful views or hikers will enjoy a trip to the 1890-meter-high Stanserhorn: it will also fascinate lovers of different modes of transportation. The lower funicular dates back to 1893.
How to get there
Drive or take public transportation to Stans (valley station) via Lucerne.
In the summer one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Alps can be enjoyed here every Friday night. The revolving restaurant offers special candlelight dinners (Regular train fares). Additional information is to be found here.
