Britannia hut – a glacial hike

The Alpin-Express gondola-style cable car takes you from Saas Fee up to the Felskinn (2989 m). There, you can hike to the Egginerjoch and then, via the Chessjen glacier, to the Britannia hut at 3030 m (which serves food and has beds for the night). The hike takes about one hour; no guide is required, but strong footwear is esseential. And the views of the Mattmarksee are breathtaking.
