The footbridge is almost 600 meters long and evolves a minimum of four meters above the riverbed. The powerful waters beneath are impressively close. Brown traces of rust on the surrounding rock faces indicate that there is iron in the thermal waters pouring forth from cracks in the middle of the cliffs of the Dala Gorges. These particular stone layers contain many small, and tiny sources which flow or drop forth steadily. However, they yield very little water compared to the sources at the end of the Dala Gorges and in the village; only the latter are sufficiently abundant for thermal bathing.
On the footbridge you lounge moss-covered rock walls and cross a 21-meter long hanging bridge leading to a 35-meter high water fall. From there you climb up some stairs to reach the Chastlaweid meadow. On the way back, you bypass the gorges on the northern or southern side to get back to the Heilbadbrücke (healing bath bridge).
