Then it is a steep ascent along the many cascades of the Simme until one arrives at the top where a number of mountains form a circle around the Alp Rezliberg. The Simme"s water music ends by at the "Bi de sibe Brünne", the Seven Sources. Legend has it that it is seven distinct sources originating on the Plaine Morte Glacier that aliment the river. As if it were a large fan, the sources of the Simme come out of crevasses and cracks. Here, at the beginning of the Simme, they spread out over a distance of 30 meters, and numerous tiny waterfalls, making this the loveliest water symphony of the Bernese Oberland.
How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation to Lenk via Thun/ Zweisimmen up to the Simmen Falls. Up to Sieben Brunnen only on a hiking path.

Hikers who follow the Simme River to its source will be regaled by an impressive water symphony. Shortly after placid Lake Lenk, the symphony takes on form, indicating its presence with the still muted hissing of the waters. The water coming down the first 400 meters of rapids are so close by that hikers are wet with its fine spray.
