The villages of Fiescheralp, Bettmeralp, Riederalp and the Belalp beyond the Massa Gorge seem to hover between heaven and earth.
The gondolas of 7 cable cars whisk visitors from the Rhone to
the villages of Fiescheralp, Bettmeralp, Riederalp and Belalp beyond the Massa Gorge. These promontories are so to speak the 1st floor. seemingly hovering between heaven and earth. From here visitors continue to "the 2nd floor", the mountains of Hohfluh, Moosfluh, Bettmerhorn and Eggishorn, all four excellent vantage points. Only the sky lies beyond these points but below, one can observe the mighty Aletsch Glacier, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, ringed by the triumvirate Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. Towards the South, one can see from the Blinnenhorn to the Fletschhorn, Mischabel Mountain Range and even the Matterhorn.
A dense network of hiking trails connects the various cable-car stations and viewpoints. Some trails go towards the glacier, through the Aletsch Forest with its gnarly trees and to the mountain lakes. Landscape, mountain lifts and wanderlust form a wondrous and harmonious experience.

How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation from Brig to Blatten, Mörel, Betten or Fiesch. To the Aletsch Glacier by aerial cable-car.
