Zürich: Zoo

The great thing about this route is that it is almost entirely downhill – and takes in the wonderful natural variety of Eastern Switzerland…
From the source of the Rhine at the Oberalp pass down to Chur, we admit you'll feel it in your legs. But after the "Grand Canyon of Switzerland" it gets gentler. You glide along the river bank through charming towns, marvel at the dramatic Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen, and after 424 wonderfully varied kilometres you arrive at Basel's inspiring Rhineside docks.
