Eternal snow: Up at 3,020 m, winter lasts all year. Of course, this fascinates the many visitors from all over the world who arrive at the glacier from Lucerne in barely an hour; but the local snowboarding and freeskiing community also greatly values the year-round snow and the benefits it brings.
As a result the Titlis, with the village of Engelberg at its feet, has developed into a winter sports resort in which old and young, locals and visitors alike, feel at home. Some choose to tackle the jumps and rails of the terrain park, others enjoy the views over the glacier from the spectacular Ice Flyer chairlift, while many opt to tackle the incomparable run down to Engelberg: 12 km to the valley floor, and a drop of 2,000 m. The highest ski area in central Switzerland is snowsure from November to May.

How to get there
Public Transport: Zürich - Lucerne (trains run every hour); transfer to the Lucerne-Stans-Engelberg train.
Trains run every hour. On the Zürich - Lucerne - Engelberg route, the ride takes 2 hours.
By car: Zürich - Sihlwald. From Sihlbrugg via Zug take the Autobahn Lucerne - Stans
Exit Stans-Süd, then take the excellent road to Engelberg (22 km), a total of 96 kilometers from Zürich - Engelberg. Driving time by car approx. 90 minutes.
Engelberg - Airport Kloten, approx. 2 hours.
