Traditional
From buzzing Saas-Fee to the quaint villages of Saas-Grund, Saas- Almagell and Saas-Balen, the traditional Valais ambience is unmistakable. The picturesque old wooden houses, the down-to-earth welcome of the locals and, in the evening, the mouth-watering aroma of a cheese fondue being prepared all contribute to the valley's unique charm.

Top tip
The toboggan run from Kreuzboden
to Saas-Grund is 11 km long,
and terrific fun from top to bottom.
Several times during the season it
also opens at night. Access the run
in comfort by riding up on the modern
eight-person gondola.
