12 km of well-prepared trails – both classic
and skating – extend along the valley floor
between Täsch and Randa.
Matterhorn Museum
This fascinating museum, the only one of
its kind, brings to life the exciting story of
the Matterhorn: from its origins in Africa to
the terrifying drama of the first ascent and
up to the present day.
Children
Unique in Switzerland: children up to the
age of 9 ski for free; on Saturdays, even
those up to age 16 ski for free. The ski
schools provide childcare for the whole
day with the children’s park and the
kindergarten (indoor) from 9 am through to
3.30 pm, making skiing and playing in the
snow doubly fun. Zermatt is the perfect
place for unforgettable family holidays!

Zermatt is easily accessible from the west, north and south: the Lake Geneva, Lötschberg and Simplon lines provide direct connections to the modern narrow-gauge Zermatt Railway, which reaches Zermatt from Brig or Visp after a 90-minute journey through the rugged Vispa Valley.
