On
skis or snowboard and attached to a kite, everyone and anyone
can try their first small jumps. Beginners should start with a
course – for their own safety. The Snow Kite School is on the
Simplon Pass and can be easily reached by car. With actionpacked
days, resting is strictly for evenings! Ideally in nearby
Brig, where good value for money accommodation and everything
a town can offer are to be found.

Off-piste powder skiing can be fantastic fun – and incredibly
addictive too! Which means that safety is sometimes forgotten.
Sensible freeriders always take an avalanche transceiver, probe
and shovel in their backpack and always wear a helmet and back
support. They are also up to date with the latest avalanche
reports and check the latest information at the freeride checkpoints
in the lift stations before setting out, while those unfamiliar
with the area only go out with a local mountain guide or winter
sports instructor.
