This much-photographed view of the Bettmeralp chapel set
against a fantastic panorama of the 4,000 m high peaks of the
Valais can be reached on foot in the peace and quiet of paths

The traditional winter holiday destination
of Bettmeralp is car-free and can only be reached by cable
car. At 1,900 m, this sunny plateau is part of the Jungfrau-
Aletsch-Bietschhorn UNESCO world natural heritage site. Winter
