The Flumserberg winter sports arena is situated on a splendid natural terrace high above Lake Walen. Once here, your gaze is bound to be directed towards the distinctive peaks of the Churfirsten. There are plenty of excellent winter hikes to be had in the countryside around the villages of Tannenheim, Mittenwald and Tannenbodenalp. This tour, in other words, is just one of countless possibilities, most of which can be extended, shortened or modified as desired.
Tannenbodenalp - Madils - Mittenwald - Tannenbodenalp
This hike begins at the valley station of the Maschgenchammbahn. Pass this station on your right and then walk over the little hill down to Madils on the other side. From there, continue on down to Mittenwald. You can follow the same trail back up again as far as the edge of the forest. There, simply follow the signs to Tannenbodenalp, which will eventually take you back to the start of your tour.
