Wildhaus is situated at the point where the Toggenburg slopes down into the Rhine valley. Towering above it on one side are the distinctively jagged peaks of the Churfirsten, while on the other there is a rather unusual view of Mt. Säntis. This leisurely winter hike takes you from Wildhaus up to Gamplüt, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the wonderful panoramic views en route. The upper Toggenburg is an area of undulating countryside, dotted with woods and isolated Alpine huts. The view from the terrace at the Gamplüt mountain restaurant is especially beautiful and also marks the turning point of this tour.
Wildhaus - Gamplüt - Wildhaus
Start the hike at the Wildhaus Post bus stop and simply follow the signs to Gamplüt. From there, take the same route back down to Wildhaus.
