Leysin

Leysin is a holiday resort situated on a sunny ledge high above the Rhône valley in the Waadtländer Alps. There is a cog railway to take guests from Aigle up to the numerous hotels. The ride is likely to prove a nostalgic one, as the points on the AL-Bahn are still operated by hand. Once at the top, visitors can enjoy splendid panoramic views of the Waadtländer and Walliser Alps starting with the magnificent peaks of the Dents du Midi. Higher up, at the turning point of the hike, there are views down to Lake Geneva as well. The wide trail climbs gently from the railway station in Feydey up to the viewing point at Prafandaz and back again.
