Ovronnaz is a health resort situated on a sun-drenched terrace high above the Rhône valley and is famous above all for its health-giving springs. The views of the peaks of the Bas Valais are overwhelmingly beautiful. Yet Ovronnaz is great not just for bathing and skiing, but for winter hiking as well. One especially good tour is that up to the Buvette of Loutze. The panorama from the top is even more beautiful than the views to be had from the village. And all kinds of Valais specialities are served in the cosy mountain hut at the top – just what you need after a two-hour-long climb.
Ovronnaz - Buvette Loutze - Ovronnaz
The hike begins at the Centre Thermal bus stop. Simply follow the pink signs to Loutze. The route will take you past the chapel of Ovronnaz and from there up to Chevalez. After walking along a narrow path for a while, the trail widens as it climbs up to the Buvette of Loutze. The return trip follows the same trail back down to Ovronnaz.
