This splendid winter hike through the Goms in the east of the Valais promises not just beautiful scenery en route but several cultural highlights as well. As always in the Valais, every village, no matter how small, has at least one church. And those in Münster and Reckingen are especially worth visiting. There are so many hiking trails here, hikers are really spoilt for choice. The valley carved by the river Rotten, as the Rhône is called here, is flat and wide, making it perfect not just for hikers, but of course for cross-country skiers as well.
