The route runs through a wild, sparsely grown mountain region from the Haslital Valley to Valais. Besides granite rocks, the landscape is characterized by imposing power plants. After a ride over the pass in Ulrichen, the motorbikers will reach the valley and then travel on wide bends up the Nufenen Pass. From here the route leads through Val Bedretto to Airolo at the Gotthard Road.
At Airolo one has two options for reaching the Gotthard Pass: A fast highway skirts a terraced landscape, while the old cobblestone Tremola Pass Road leads to the Hospiz in tight hairpin bends. On the highest point of the pass (2109m) is the Gotthard Museum, which depicts the development of the pass as well as transit traffic. Bikers who are not in a hurry will enjoy the ride on the old road, parts of which are still cobblestoned. In the Schöllenen Gorge, the Gotthard Road climbs 350 meters over a distance of four kilometers, featuring numerous galleries and loops.
Near Wassen is the beginning of the Susten Pass, connecting the Reuss Valley at the foot of the Gotthard with the Hasli Valley in the Bernese Oberland. The Susten Pass Road was inaugurated in 1945 and was the first pass road in the entire Alpine region to be designed exclusively for motor traffic.
