St.-Ursanne is in the heart of the Jura at the Doubs River. With its picturesque, medieval town, three beautiful town gates and a cloister, it never fails to enchant its visitors. Another stop on the tour is the village of Saignelégier. The cultural and economic center on the Freiberg High Plateau (Franches Montagnes), Saignelégier is known for its annual horse market.
Another highlight: La Chaux-de-Fonds, the cradle of watchmaking. The tour continues via the "Vue des Alpes" pass to Neuenburg, the yellow stand-stone city at the northern bank of the lake bearing the same name. The castle and the collegiate church date from the 12th century and dominate the city’s panorama. On the way to Fleurier the motorbikers will enjoy a stop at Creux du Van, one of the most scenic highlights of the entire Jura arc. The rock basin in the shape of a horseshoe is 160 meters high and two kilometers long.
The tour continues via the Col des Etroits to Ste-Croix, located on a sun-drenched, protected terrace (1100m) in the midst of the vast expanse of the Jura landscape in the Canton of Vaud. The town is world famous for its musical boxes and nickelodeons. The next stop is a small town at Lake Neuenburg: Yverdon-les-Bains, Western Switzerland’s most important spa resort. Thanks to its sulfur- and magnesium-rich springs, Yverdon has a long tradition as a thermal spa and center of the healing arts, as evidenced by the ruins of the Roman thermal baths. The route then leads via Moudon to the destination of the tour, Lausanne, the second largest city on Lake Geneva. Lausanne is the “Olympic capital”, the seat of the Olympic Committee and the Olympic Museum, the worldwide largest information center for the Olympic Games.
