Swim in the rivers

Eichholz/ Bern
The Aare has a strong current. There are landings and steps every 50 metres to help you get out, but only strong swimmers should attempt to bathe in the river. There are warning signs stating that bathing in the river Aare is dangerous. On hot summer days up to 5000 people per hour head for the river.

Entlebuch/ Lucerne
The rock formations near the bathing areas are uniquely beautiful. Water quality above the waste water treatment plant is better than below it.

Lavertezzo/ Ticino
The Verzasca is a fascinating, wild river of natural beauty but with a strong current. White signboards at the most popular bathing spots warn of the dangers and it is essential that you heed these warnings.
