This medieval castle (11th to 14th century)
occupying a commanding position over Lake
Neuchâtel is home to an extraordinary collection
of weapons and armour, as well as
models of the castle and of the celebrated
Battle of Grandson (1476), in which Swiss
soldiers defeated the army of Charles the
Bold, Duke of Burgundy.
There is a medieval fortress dating back to between the 11th and 14th centuries.This medieval fortress has been well-maintained and is in fantastic condition. It houses permanent exhibitions where arms, models of the castle and historical details of the famous battle of Grandson in 1476 are displayed. There is also a popular automobile museum, where Greta Garbo's famous Rolls Royce is displayed amongst other vintage models.
