Where the vast Obergoms region turns into a narrow gorge leading to the Untergoms, the Binn Valley opens up. It is popular with amateur geologists. It's not only the nearly intact Walser villages with their dark wooden houses, but also the spectacular backdrops between Grengiols and Fäld, as well as the rich vegetation and the natural mineral deposits (one of Europe's largest finds of this kind), that make this hike a superb experience of nature.
