Excursions - Vallorbe (Lake Geneva Region)
Castles & palaces
The "Pré-Giroud" fortress was built between 1937 and 1941 and is a typical pre-World War II example of fortification work. The fortress was built in order to protect the Col de Jougne.
Museums
The whole history of Vallorbe, symbolised by the metalworkers' paddle wheel and the railwaymen's locomotive, is housed under one roof in this superb listed building.
Great adventures
Visitors can observe American bison, wolves and bears in a natural environment from a 400 metre-long observation path in the same park.
