The Foundation was built around the remains of the oldest Franco-Swiss temple ever found in Switzerland. The exhibition displays the main archaeological finds from the Martigny excavations, which began in 1976.
This modern and engaging museum displays the entire history of the legendary Saint Bernard dog. Display cases, brilliantly realistic scenes, films, pictures from the 19th century and Brienz sculptures will thrill visitors.
The Tissières Foundation stages exhibitions on the geosciences and tourism in conjunction with nature. What’s more, the reconstruction of a mine can be viewed in the basement.
The latest creations by modern artists from Switzerland and Europe – painters, engravers, sculptors, architects and photographers – are put on display in five exhibitions every year.
Five to seven exhibitions are staged regularly every year by the ‘Manoir’ (manor house). The foundation endeavours to promote and safeguard contemporary art. The uppermost floor of the manor house is home to the André-Guex Joris Foundation which searches for, safeguards and archives all types of audio clips and makes these accessible to the general public.
