Rellerli / Schönried (Bernese Oberland)
In winter or summer
you buy a packet of fondue mix, pick up a rucksack packed with all the other things you need such as the caquelon or fondue pan, burner and bread and set off on the path to "haute" cuisine.
The Fondue Trail offers walkers and gourmets the combination of an open-air fondue party and a scenic walk with culinary highs. First you collect the fondue rucksack with everything you need from the Schönrieder dairy. Then off you go up to the Rellerli or the Horneggli, and at the end of your panoramic walk you can have your fondue in the open air. You can hand the rucksack back at the bottom station of the lift or at the hotel (and the dairy does the washing up!).

Gstaad (Bernese Oberland)
Cheese cathedral
A monument to cheese: more than 3,000 wheels, including his- toric rarities, have been gathered here at the Gstaad cheese cathedral by master cheese maker Hanspeter Reust. The display, covering several storeys of a structure that extends for 25 m underground, is impressive and evocatively lit. A tour tells the story of cheese, from grass to gourmet.
