Escalade

The biggest traditional celebration is the Escalade, at the beginning of December, held to commemorate the unsuccessful attack on Geneva by troops from Savoy on 12 December 1602.
 

Geneva Festival

The highlight of the summer season is the Geneva Festival held in August with concerts, world foods and crafts, entertainment galore and a funfair on the lakeshore. Hundreds of thousands of people gather for the grand finale - a spectacular display of musical fireworks.
 

La FĂȘte de la Musique

Every June the city is taken over by the three-day La FĂȘte de la Musique, which showcases over 100 acts at 30 different outdoor venues. But the best thing about the festival is that nearly all of the concerts are free.

Large Technoparade on the quay of Lake Geneva. Every year thousands of people will go and follow the Parade and then participate in the evening events.

The Wine Harvest Festival in September is a celebration of the vine, held in Mandement, a charming wine village in the heart of the Geneva countryside. It includes a parade and sampling of local wines and specialities.
