The six-day hiking tour around Mt. Wildstrubel is a singular alpine experience, as well as a challenge. The Wildstrubel chain is like a massive wall dividing the Valais and the Bernese Oberland. There are informal passes that have been in use for centuries. Once they served commercial ends but today they are used solely for touristic purposes. This fascinating six-day-tour begins in Kandersteg. The first segment goes from Bunderchrinde to Adelboden. The next day one continues, crossing the Hahnenmoos Pass to Lenk, the next day cross the Rawilpass to Montana. Then hike across the Varneralp to the famous spa village Leukerbad and continue the hike the next day, crossing the Resti Pass to the Lauchernalp in the Lötschen Valley. The high point, both figuratively and literally, is the crossing of the 2690-meter-high Lötschen Pass.
How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation to Kandersteg.
The careful planning of a hiking tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off.
