The tour which connects Mt. Rinderberg above Zwiesimmen and Mt. Hornberg near Gstaad is a ridge hike that is a dream come true: it is fairly easy and the hiking trails are very well-kept. The entire hike takes place at about an altitude of 2000 meters. The views are of the impressive peaks, firns and glaciers of the Altels, Doldenhorn, Wildstrubel in the East, the Diablerets chain, Wildhorn and Arpelistock in the South, and the Pays d'Enhaut in the West. One vantage point trades places with the next: Rinderberg, Ussere Parwenge, Hornflue, Uf de Chessle, die Bergstation Horneggli. But just as attractive are the flower-filled alpine meadows, sporting rare alpine flowers. Adter a pleasant hike which lasts about two hours, one reaches the mountain station of the chairlift to Schönried. One may also choose to continue hiking to Gstaad, Schönried or Saanenmöser
How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation to Zweisimmen vie Thun. From there take the chairlift to Mt. Rinderberg, in Horneggli take the chairlift to Schönried.
