The mountain walk from the Fiescheralp via the Märjelensee to the Moosfluh leads through a mountain landscape like no other. It was with good reason that the Aletsch area became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. At the heart of the protected area, which extends from the Jungfrau to the Bietschhorn, stands the 24 km long and up to 900 m thick Aletsch Glacier, of course. The landscape around the glacier is bare and bleak, yet with a certain beauty of its own. The mountains in the Aletsch area reach heights of over 4000 m.
