Das wildromantiscbe Verzascatal ist gekennzeichnet durch seine steilen Berghänge und durch den smaragtgrünen und glasklaren Wildbach Verzasca, der dem Tal den Namen gegeben hat. Absoluter Höhepunkt im Tal ist aber die bekannte Ponte Romano mit dem markanten Doppelbogen, der in der Mitte auf einem Felssporn abgestützt ist.

Die Wanderung von Schwarzenburg nach Thörishaus ist eine Tour der landschaftlichen Gegensätze. Auf dem Hochplateau bei Schwarzenburg bestechen die grandiosen Aussichten auf die Alpenkette. Besonders eindrücklich sind diese vom Kirchhügel bei Wahlern.
