The picturesque Twannbach Gorge
The entry to the gorge is not all that spectacular - a little stream burbles along peacefully next to the hiking path. But the picture changes after the first steps. Rock walls, several metres high, tower upwards to the left and right of the stream. Waterfalls of various sizes roar down into the depths, with chutes between them that accelerate the water to breathtaking speeds before they thunder and crash into a small lake. Meanwhile, the hiking path takes you across one spectacular stretch after another - sometimes across a daring wooden footbridge, then underneath the cliffs which have been hollowed out to depths of several metres in places.Begin of tour: Magglingen, mountain station
