Turtmann Valley is one of Switzerland's most untouched and pristine landscapes. There are many hiking routes around Turtmann. The Hopschil Trail , which leads past two waterfalls, is definitely the best of those routes.
After the Wolf's Trail ("Wolfspfad"), the Bear's Trail ( "Bärenpfad") and the Eagle's Trail ("Adlerpfad"), the tourist office of Turtmann Valley has opened the Hopschil Trail ("Hopschilpfad"). The Hopschil Trail is a circular hike through Turtmann and leads from waterfall to waterfall.
Aromatic cheese is made in a show cheese-dairy in the valley or on lush Alps. The milk from which the cheese is made comes from Eringer cows, which are often black and have beautifully shaped horns that are nearly as important as their milk-giving udders. It is part of this cow species' naturally inherent behavior to engage in fights where the animals use their horns.

The careful planning of a hiking tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended hiking trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
