The 50th anniversary of the Swiss Museum of Transport is being celebrated with a unique nostalgic excursion up the Rigi. It begins on the “Red Arrow” (electric railcar, built 1935) to Arth-Goldau, and continues in vintage carriages to Rigi Kulm (the summit).
The journey continues with steam loco no. 7 (built 1873, the only working cogwheel steam loco with an upright boiler) down to Rigi Staffel, and then with an electric train to Vitznau – followed by a cruise in a paddlesteamer to Lucerne. The guided trip includes a short tour of the museum, reserved seats, aperitif in the Red Arrow and three-course lunch at Rigi Kulm.

Further steam trips and nostalgic excursions can be found at www.rigi.ch.
