Imperial splendour
This magnificent castle with its glorious
grounds enjoys a superb location high above
Lake Constance. Napoleon III, the last emperor
of France, lived here until his 31st year,
and left behind a castle of tremendous beauty
and interest, with originally furnished
salons full of day-to-day objects, as well as
grounds covering 13 hectares that have just
been restored.
Today the castle is a monument of European
importance. Like guests at the imperial court,
modern-day visitors can move around freely,
captivated by the charm of the salons and
their stylish setting. Arenenberg is justifi ably
known as the most beautiful castle on Lake
Constance.
