Since its opening in 1984, the Fondation de
l’Hermitage has staged two large temporary
exhibitions of fi ne art every year, with an
emphasis on the modern.
The foundation is housed in a grand 19thcentury
residence, built by the family Bugnion,
which occupies an exceptional position high
above the town and lake. Visitors are welcome
to explore the magni fi cent surrounding
park, and to take refreshments at the Café-
Restaurant L’esquisse, housed in the former
orangery.
