A cultural landscape in the Swiss Mittelland

Seeland

Hardly any human intervention has changed the natural landscape as much as the correction of water bodies. Several of these corrections took place in the Biel Lake District.
No other Swiss region was altered and rearranged so drastically by man. The Culture Trail ("KulturSpur", cp. Tipp) has made it its goal to work with these lakes in their natural surroundings. This approach, in contrast to the traditional museum style, seeks to edit nature if you will, to present these lakes in the most attractive form possible.

Camping Lindenhof, Sutz Lattrigen
An oasis of peace - to be found just a few steps away from the highway! In keeping with the motto small is beautiful, the Van der Veer family has set up the Lindenhof camping ground under shady fruit trees next to their farm. Cars are parked behind a stack of wood and thus not visible from the campsite. These environmentally conscious farmers use solar thermal collectors for heating water. In the morning and evening Lieselotte Van der Veer, who has taken over her parents farm, sets up a small shop in the yard where you can buy vegetables, cherries as well as milk, eggs and honey produced on the farm.
