Mozart operas under the starry sky – and in a fabulously beautiful, calm forest clearing at 1,750 meters above sea level to boot.

When they created the Ope(r)n Air Waldbühne Arosa in 2001, the Cultural Circle in Arosa created a festival that the public was immediately enthusiastic about. Ever since, two to three minor operas of great composers and dramatic aria soirees have been staged during three weeks in the summer. Highlights so far were “Zaide”, “Bastien & Bastienne”, “Die verstellte Gärtnerin” (“The Sham Female Gardener”),“The Impressario” by Mozart and “La Canterina” by Haydn. The productions are always tailored to the idyllic Waldbühne (Forest Stage), which adds to their charm and attraction.
