It was a high quality production in which form and content complemented each other superbly. The production turned out to be a magnet for the public and earned very positive reviews in the media. No other jubilee project of this size found such unanimous approval as this one. Many people have since expressed the desire to make the opera performances at Hallwyl Castle a tradition.

he situation today: The first performance, in the summer of 2003, took place in the context of the canton’s anniversary. It was a cantonal project, managed directly by the Cultural Department. The Hallwyl Castle Opera Association was founded in summer 2005 to ensure the continued success of the project. Continuity of personnel has been implemented in order to optimally use the experience gained in 2003. Risi Events Lucerne is in charge of the project.
