Snowboarders and skiers will be thrilled to know that Zermatt has the antidote to summer! The answer is the highest summer skiing in the Alps and Europe's largest snowpark, located on the Klein Matterhorn. 36 square kilometers of snowfields between the altitudes of 2900 and 3900 m.a.s.l. with 21 km of secured runs, 6 skilifts, and one aerial cable-car are located on the Theodul Glacier - Plateau Rosa. The snow conditions are perfect and the views incomparable: from here one can see practically all the peaks of 4000 meters or more above the verdant valleys.
Snowboarders will be excited to know that they, too, have their own Eldorado: the Gravity Park on the Theodul Glacier. It consists of 200 meters of Superpipe, Halfpipe, Kickers and Rails as well as the entire winter skate park will keep even the most arduous boarder busy. Both areas are open between June and November.
How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation from Brig to Täsch and then take the train to Zermatt (car-free resort). From there take the mountain train to the Klein Matterhorn.
