Valais

The Lötschental has for a long time been the end of the world and so has remained wonderfully unspoiled. A mountain climbers' Eldorado opens up from the Lauchernalp onwards.

Picturesque mountain huts with stone roofs, unspoiled countryside all around, meadows like carpets of mountain flowers and mountains, majestic on the horizon, which you can not only look up to, but also travel up to. For instance: by the new glacier railway to the Hockenhorn ridge at 3,111 metres above sea level. The high level path to the fantastic viewing point of the 40, four thousand metre mountains starts there (45 mins).

The glacier cable car to the 3293-meter Hockenhorn operates only in winter.
