The Mont Fort region is reached by the large cable railway from La Chaux (Verbier) or Tortin/Siviez (Nendaz). The final 400m over the glacier to Mont Fort are also courtesy of a cable railway departing from Col des Gentianes, and a 20-meter-long stairway leads up to the actual summit and fantasic views of a glacial world in the high mountains. To the north the Vaud and Bernese Alps also come into view.
Particularly attractive are the notorious full-moon and sunrise trips to Mont Fort for early risers!
